the Republican Party

Screw them. They “win” (their words) an election, decidedly and proven to be thanks to Russian Influence, then when Trump incites violence for over four years, culminating with a violent takeover of the Capitol Building, they applaud him and choose to continue with him as the face of the party?

Goddamn idiots.

Satire

I don’t think people truly appreciate how insane and self-satirizing the past dozens of months have been.

The guy gets accused of working for Russia on the campaign trail, by the other candidate in the debate, and we now know the FBI was investigating the president-elect for a crime tantamount to treason.

The National Security Advisor LIES to the FBI about contacts with a Russian!

This is in FEBRUARY 2017!!! Not even a month into the presidency!!!

Then the president FIRES THE FBI DIRECTOR and tries to spin it off like he was doing it over his handling of Clinton and her emails. Like the public would believe “oh hey donald we know you hate Hillary and have no compassion for anyone but yourself, and we haven’t even seen the pandemic yet, but yeah sure it totally passes the smell test that you would do your second-worst enemy a favor by firing someone who JUST HAPPENED to be investigating you. Totally above board, you are such a handsome president!”

And then Mueller fuckin indicts a president the only way possible, most of the information and more than ten episodes of obstruction of justice are public knowledge.

Then he gets impeached for illegally trying a quid-pro-quo with Ukraine over military aid that would have been for fighting Russia, meaning its not possible to know if the president was really trying to get dirt on Joe Biden, the man who would succeed him as President, or helping Putin. The Speaker of the House even said, to the President of the United States, “All roads with you lead to Putin”

This is all BEFORE the pandemic. People will read about this period like a Charles Dickens novel. “Why didn’t the white people vote with their self-interest?” “Well, Billy, because that was the 2010s, when life was olden and people thought they wouldn’t have to recycle anymore.”

“You mean that time period before the coastal cities went in the ocean?”

It all writes itself. The ignoring the climate through the 90s and 00s until an immigrant crisis, the strongmen coming in to take advantage of people’s insecurities of the immigrants, the atrocities, the realization that we are better than this, and the fixes. Then something else will go wrong, like the earth’s core shrinks or some other year 3000 future problem.

All of this realized because a racist who painted himself orange said he would appeal to certain demographics with promises he had no intention of following through on.

Fake News

I have an extreme distrust for any data source that is clearly biased, poorly written, or seeks to solicit an emotional response rather than convey information – e.g. name calling, insinuating or inferring without references, spelling random words in all caps. These are signs of unfair bias or fabrications.

Fake news is any news with unverified information. Think twice, think critically. Here’s a good reference for evaluation of news sources: https://guides.lib.umich.edu/c.php?g=637508&p=4462356

What’s the bottom line? Don’t vote for measures or people that support money in politics or lower taxes on the rich.

To spell it plainly: Don’t vote Republican.

Some Needed Perspective

Listen up and think. What happened to draining the swamp? What happened to building our industrial base? Where’s the strong middle class now that Trump is president? Is America better positioned against Russia and China now? One thing is sure: the 0.1% rich are richer (and you’ll never be one of them!)

Now, if you read that Obama heard Russia was providing weapons to be used against Americans, and then gave CIA intelligence to them, how would that make you feel? And if Obama was “friends” with dictators? If Obama retweeted Nazis? What if Obama made fun of a handicapped person? Made fun of veterans? Was accused of sexual misconduct by two dozen women? Made money off his position at the expense of the taxpayer? Spent an inordinate amount of time golfing at his own resort? Let children die in ICE custody? What if Obama failed to appropriately handle the worst pandemic in decades?

… Because Trump did all these things.
Will you say to yourself “it’s all fake news”? All of it? Or maybe, the simple answer is the correct one. Trump only cares for himself, and is not a suitable leader for a free country. Voting for him last time was an experiment for many, voting for him this time would be negligent.

If you feel like I’m attacking you personally, don’t. Your identity should not be dependent on the success or failure of a man you’ve never met. Learn and grow, don’t back yourself into a corner.

Hitler

>His government was constantly in chaos, with officials having no idea what he wanted them to do, and nobody was entirely clear who was actually in charge of what. He procrastinated wildly when asked to make difficult decisions, and would often end up relying on gut feeling, leaving even close allies in the dark about his plans.

>There’s a bit of an argument about whether this was a deliberate ploy to get his own way, or whether he was just really, really bad at being in charge of stuff. Some believe it was a cunning tactic to sow division and chaos—and it’s undeniable that he was very effective at that. But when you look at his personal habits, it’s hard to shake the feeling that it was just a natural result of putting a workshy narcissist in charge of a country.

>He was incredibly lazy. According to his aide he wouldn’t get out of bed until after 11 a.m., and wouldn’t do much before lunch other than read what the newspapers had to say about him.

>He was obsessed with the media and celebrity, and often seems to have viewed himself through that lens. He once described himself as “the greatest” and wrote to a friend, “I believe my life is the greatest novel in world history.” In many of his personal habits he came across as strange or even childish—he would have regular naps during the day, he would bite his fingernails at the dinner table, and he had a remarkably sweet tooth.

>He was deeply insecure about his own lack of knowledge, preferring to either ignore information that contradicted his preconceptions, or to lash out at the expertise of others. He hated being laughed at, but enjoyed it when other people were the butt of the joke (he would perform mocking impressions of people he disliked). But he also craved the approval of those he disdained, and his mood would quickly improve if a newspaper wrote something complimentary about him.

>Little of this was especially secret or unknown at the time. It’s why so many people failed to take him seriously until it was too late, dismissing him as merely a “half-mad rascal” or a “man with a beery vocal organ.” In a sense, they weren’t wrong. In another, much more important sense, they were as wrong as it’s possible to get.

>Hitler’s personal failings didn’t stop him having an uncanny instinct for political rhetoric that would gain mass appeal, and it turns out you don’t actually need to have a particularly competent or functional government to do terrible things.

To Hell With Trump

How can you say you support freedom, except when it comes to women having control over their own bodies?

How can you say Republicans support working class, when trickle down economics has been proven to not work?

People trust architects to design houses, engineers to certify their safety, accountants to prepare their taxes, but over 95% of scientists agree and they don’t accept it. Goddamn.

One handful of government paid scientists? You mistyped “scientists around the world”. It’s an accepted fact everywhere but the faithful red States. While the Earth has seen these levels of heat and carbon dioxide before, it’s the *rate of change* that is unprecedented.

Prologue

I tried to be nice. I held my tongue. But it’s too mentally draining. It takes too much effort. The sickness of the Republican party is a spiritual and emotional one, which cannot be cured or resolved with facts, logic, or evidence. You cannot simply present facts and logical conclusions because they feel they cannot be wrong, they feel attacked, they get defensive. You have to lead them to water. You have to let their natural thirst lead them. If you tell them where the water is, they’ll call you a libtard and shut down. Morons who celebrate ignorance.

*Any time I say all, I mean most of. Nothing is black and white. The world is all greys.

Republicans are hypocrites.

If they’re evangelicals, they complain about wearing masks to protect life because it infringes on their liberty. Yet they condemn mothers to death and children to miserable lives because they’re “pro-life”.

They claim “All Lives Matter” yet refuse to be a decent human being and wear a mask as a lame-ass attempt at “fighting the man”.

The non-God fearing Republicans complain about personal liberty and freedom, while they welcomed the TSA to feel them up in camera-less rooms.

They claim fiscal conservatism while they pay billions into “protecting us” from a miniscule terrorist threat, while welcoming the cameras, the data logging, and the total loss of privacy. Black books that you have no control or oversight over, that say whether you can enter the United States or not.

They claim they will lower your taxes – only for the upper one percent. Who you will never be! You like being poor? You’re all poor compared to them.

They bitch and whine about someone peacefully protesting then say “why can’t you protest peacefully?” when things escalate during protests (which were escalated by violent radical right pretending to be BLM/antifa in many cases!)

They claim they want their guns because bear arms, stand your ground! Yet they don’t use them when no-name, unmarked, police officers invade our cities on the whims of a single person in office. ****ing hypocrites.

They complain about fake news, yet only read a couple extremist sources with no evidence to back it up. And swallow a President repeatedly lying to them (every ****ing day!). Yet claim there’s a conspiracy that 90% of the world’s news sources are part of? The MSM won’t publish the truth? You ignorant tools.

They claim the Russians are the enemy, while our President sucks up to Putin? ****ing commie lovers. Let them get away with hacking and disinformation campaigns.

They claim socialism will take over our country! Personal freedom! How did Hitler rise to power? How does Nationalism play a role? Read some history books you tools.

They complain about a divisive country and things being unfair to them, while gerrymandering goes on in the states, bill-blocking McConnell in congress refuses to let any non-Republican bills pass for 7 ****ing years. Fuck you Mitch.

They claim to interpret the Constitution strictly, except when it applies to the separation of church and state. Taxes are bad until the money benefits their church and private schools!

They lose sight of the forest because of a couple trees. MAGA? You mean when the top tax bracket was 70%, and you actually could pull yourself up by your bootstraps because mega-corps didn’t exist? These idiots, voting for the 1%ers now.

They rally behind a leader who says “I care about police and vets!” yet does nothing to help our soldiers, and makes fun of them when it pleases him.
